February 2026 Work Party
The work party for 14th February 2026 consisted of 11 volunteers with 56 hours of work being carried out in dry, sunny, but cold winter weather. Due to the efforts of the volunteers, all the planned work was carried out as follows:
- The dip in the path just south of the Mannachie flood alleviation bund was infilled with 2 tonnes of quarry material and compacted with the wacker plate. An off-let was also dug at the lowest point to allow water to drain away from the path.
- The loose handrail at the Mannachie Avenue ramp was secured with wood screws.
- Encroaching whin and broom bushes were cut back between the Mannachie Avenue access point and Dallas Dhu.
- The choked east side drainage ditch north of the Dunphail Breathing Place was cleaned out by hand and spoil arisings dumped on top of the cutting embankment.
Additional works:
- No extra works were carried out.
Other points to note:
- The laid quarry material south of the Mannachie Farm Bridge bund may need blinding over with quarry dust to make it smoother.
- Further drainage works required on the west side of the cutting north of the Dunphail Breathing Place
- No accident or injuries were reported.
