June 2024 Work Party
The work party for 15th June 2024 consisted of 10 volunteers 60 hours of work being carried out. It was very successful with most of the planned work at the Cairn Eney Cutting and other locations being completed as follows:
- Puddles and pot holes in the Cairn Eney Cutting filled with 1.8 tonnes of quarry material.
- Drainage ditches and culverts cleared in the Cairn Eney Cutting.
- Fencing painted at the top of the Mannachie Avenue access ramp.
- Replacement information boards fitted at the Huntly’s Cave path junction. Mounting frame and boards replaced as necessary.
Additional unplanned Work:
- Some undergrowth cut back at Dallas Dhu ramp by a local resident
Other points to note:
- No injuries or near misses were reported.
- Further drainage works required in the Cairn Eney Cutting to drain the path and take drained water away the cutting in existing railway culverts and moorland ditches.
