August 2025 Work Party

The work party for 9th August 2025 consisted of 11 volunteers with nearly 65 hours of work being carried out in the warm dry summer weather. The work party was very productive with all the planned work being progressed as follows:

  • North of the Longley Farm crossing, the west side wheel ruts infilled with 4 tonnes of sub-base and compacted for approximately 60m
  • Following Storm Floris and the subsequent tree works to unblock the Dava Way, the remaining brash was cleared and logs extracted from the Dava Way between the Aucheorn crossing and the Scurrypool Bridge.

Other points to note:

  • Further tree works are required to remove trees adjacent to the Dava Way that were damaged by Storm Floris, but not causing a path blockage.
  • Further infilling of the ruts north of the Longley Farm crossing required.
  • Sub-base stockpile at Clashdhu needs to be replenished.
  • Special thanks to the Altyre, Logie and Moray Estates for the cooperation and support given to the Dava Way Association to clear the path in the aftermath of the damage caused by Storm Floris.
  • No accident or injuries were reported
