October 2026 Work Party
The work party for 10th October 2026 consisted of 18 volunteers who carried out over 120 hours of work improving the Drainage at Dunphail. Despite the very wet forecast the volunteers managed to carry out the following works:
- Clear and improve about 200m of drainage ditches between the Dunphail Breathing Place and the Balvlair Crossing.
- Rod blockages in the old railway drainage pipes and identify where further action is needed to clear roots from the pipe in the Balvlair to Laurels cutting.
- Strim the grass and undergrowth on the West side of the Balvlair to Laurels cutting.
Additional Works:
- No additional work was carried out
Other points to note:
- Many thanks to the Edinkillie Community Association for allowing us to take shelter from the rain in the Village Hall for our refreshment breaks.
- Further work required to clear blockages in the railway drainage.
- The drainage ditch improvements on the east side of the Balvlair to Laurels cutting need to be completed.
No accidents or incidents were reported
