May 2026 Work Party
The work party for 9th May 2026 consisted of 10 volunteers with 81 hours of work being carried out in dry, but cool Spring weather. Due to the efforts of the volunteers, all the planned work was carried out as follows:
- The 20 tonne sub-base stockpile at Dava was uploaded to trailers for use on the path prior to the turning area being required for vehicle operations in connection with extensive tree works in the surrounding woodlands.
- The 20 tonnes of sub-base uploaded was used to infill wheel ruts and pothole on the west side of the path between Dava and the Heatherbells cutting.Â
Additional works:
- On the same section of path, some gorse cutback was carried out where it was encroaching onto the Dava Way.
Other points to note:
- To create a smoother the path surface, the infill sub-base will need to be dusted over after it has bedded in over the next month or two
